It’s the Brain-altering Drugs Stupid:

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It is simply too painful to acknowledge -- even to ourselves -- that we've been fooled.” -- Carl Sagan,"The Fine Art of Baloney Detection" (February 1, 1987)
This morning, just as I was about to start writing my weekly Duty to Warn column, I glanced through the Duluth News-Tribune and couldn’t help but notice a full-page ad on page A3. The ad was titled “Rallying to Address Opioid Addiction”. The color-printed ad likely cost well over a thousand dollars and was paid for by an entity that I had never heard of before called “Rx ALI Minnesota” (Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative). The group was apparently a fresh new “alliance” of “concerned” corporate entities that were suddenly interested in the opioid crisis that is affecting all portions of America.
Merck & Company and Big Pharma’s Nefarious Search for Profits

“Investigators on research teams should discontinue the research if, in their judgement, the outcome of the research might turn out to be harmful to the individual.” --- An interpretation of the Declaration of Helsinki: Recommendations for Conduct of Clinical Research
"It is not an acceptable excuse to say: 'I was just following my superior's orders.'" – Principle IV of the Nuremburg Principles
“When an activity raises threats of harm to human health or the environment, precautionary measures should be taken even if some cause and effect relationships are not fully established scientifically. In this context the proponent of an activity, rather than the public, should bear the burden of proof. The process of applying the precautionary principle must be open, informed and democratic and must include potentially-affected parties. It must also involve an examination of the full range of alternatives, including no action.” – Wingspread Statement on the Precautionary Principle, Jan. 1998
The Bush Family Dynasty and Prescott Bush’s Love Affair with Fascism

I was involved in pro-peace, anti-war, anti-US Imperialism efforts during the most hideous years of the Reagan/Bush administrations (from 1980 – 1992) that resulted in the deaths and sufferings of millions of innocent people in virtually every South and Central American nation you can think of.
As I remember the many innocent – often “disappeared” - war-refugees who suffered, starved and died at the hands of my war-profiteering national leaders, I am unable to shed any tears for the guilty ones, even if they are now dead or dying, for they were war-mongers that never apologized for their misdeeds. They were members beholden to Wall Street and War Street whose intentions made them responsible for brutal massacres, assassinations, torturing, mass killings, starvation and the impoverishment of millions of innocents that wanted to live in peace in their homeland that had been targeted for exploitation by my once-beloved homeland.
Vaccine Realities that Big Pharma Doesn’t Teach Us Doctors (or our Patients)

The Trump/Chilean/Antofagasta/Twin Metals/Northeast Minnesota/Copper Mining Connections

Iván Arriagada Herrera, the CEO of Antofagasta Minerals S.A. (since 2015) and Antofagasta plc (since 2016) said that Donald Trump’s election has created a “more favourable climate for the development of the (Northern Minnesota Twin Metals) project.”
Arriagada recently said that Antofagasta’s Twin Metals unit was preparing an environmental impact assessment for an underground copper-nickel mine in Minnesota. (Twin Metals was a Canadian Penny Stock mining company until Antofagasta acquired 100% of the company’s shares a few years ago.)
But the project hinges on the resolution of a legal dispute with the US government, which under former President Barack Obama, refused to renew the company’s mineral leases in 2016 to protect the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness area from possible pollution.
Australian Psychiatry, Big Pharma and the Future of Medicine

I predict the extreme polarization of medical sciences. There will be a small (and diminishing) corps of dedicated individuals; real scientists who want to make a difference. Through them, and only through them, we will continue to make significant advances in medicine.
But their effort will be swamped out by the continuing wave of lies and corruption which passes for “science”. It contains no new discoveries, only new ways of lying about what the pharmaceutical industry is peddling.
But those who criticize this system of rampant corruption will be increasingly pilloried and attacked as incompetent, dangerous, dishonest, stupid. It’s already happening with criticism of the “anti-vaccines loonies” and other pejoratives.
The only way of surviving in this coming world of chemicalized madness is to look after yourself. But the medical industry won’t like that. It will become more and more difficult, as suppliers of natural products and experts in non-pharma healing are increasingly marginalized or even criminalized.
People like me could end up in jail, for teaching you that nature can heal!
The Fuehrer Princip (Principle) When Fascism was Ascendant in the World

When naive people are in trouble and go looking for someone to solve their problems for them, they often get bamboozled by cunning, politically-motivated con men who are quite willing to step in and take charge.
In pre-Nazi Europe, the fascist dictators Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler were such politicians. In 1929, Germany had been victimized by the Wall Street Stock Market Crash which had caused economic chaos all around the economically-interconnected world – especially heavily-indebted Germany which was still reeling from the consequences of the Great War and the massively unfair Treaty of Versailles that ended the war and made Germany accept responsible for all the reparations costs.

A Historical and Psychological Evaluation of an Anonymous Wannabe Dictator who was a Classical Sociopathic, Narcissistic, Egomaniacal, Xenophobic Demagogue

By the time this column is published in the Duluth Reader and also around the world, the mid-term election of 2018 will be over. So, whether there is a blue wave or not, I have decided to update – and actually shorten (!) - a 2016 column that will make important points that might help make sense for future voters, whether they will feel relieved, triumphant, sad or angry - or not. The electorate still needs to understand what really motivates divisive or tyrannical politicians that have sought power and wealth no matter the era or nation. Please read it carefully.

The Precautionary Principle, the Politics of Selfishness and the Influence of Right-Wing Think Tanks

The Precautionary Principle: "Where there are threats of serious or irreversible damage to environmental or human health, exploitation by any corporate or personal entity that could damage the environment or the health of humans must be delayed until there is absolute scientific certainty that damage can be totally averted.”
"Altruism is a great evil...while selfishness is a virtue." -- Ayn Rand, atheist author of Atlas Shrugged, Fountainhead andThe Virtue of Selfishness whose books were the inspiration for the American libertarian movement.
