New York - I was with the Israeli army in 1982 when it invaded Lebanon and battled a new resistance militia, Hezbollah. Ten years later, I was in Afghanistan with a new Muslim resistance movement, Taliban.
Both groups have been demonized by western and Israeli media and governments as “terrorists” a meaningless but effective propaganda label that reduced both movements to the status of mad dogs and criminals. The term “terrorist” implies that the object of this libel can have no legitimate political or moral rights.

On Friday September 27, 2024, Israel launched a massive bombing on residential areas of Haret Hreik neighborhood of Beirut's southern suburbs, that resulted in the killing of Hezbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah along with 12 top Hezbullah commanders. The attack was carried out by six US made F-35 aircraft that carried six two tons bombs. The explosions left a crater 98 feet deep.
It was the deadliest such attack on Beirut since the 2006 Israeli war on Lebanon, with Lebanese health authorities reporting at least 12 people killed and dozens more wounded in the attack.
 
Nasrallah is survived by his wife, Fatima Yassin, his three sons Jawad, Mohammed-Mahdi and Mohammed Ali, and several grandchildren, according to the AFP. His eldest son, Hadi, was killed in 1997, while fighting against Israeli invading forces in south Lebanon, and his daughter Zeinab was reportedly killed in the Beirut airstrike on Friday. Gavin Newsome is no friend of Green Energy

While killing the attempt to regulate this potentially dangerous AI technology, Newsom has become America's deadliest opponent of renewable energy. In particular he is forcing continued operation of the embrittled, decrepit, uninsured nuclear plant at Diablo Canyon, which---at a cost of $8-12 billion over market prices---could turn all of California into a radioactive wasteland.

Newsom in 2018 signed an agreement to phase out Diablo this and next year while phasing in renewables and battery storage. Solar, wind, geothermal, storage and efficiency have all soared ahead of expectations. Diablo's power is a detriment, over stressing an obsolete grid while blocking far cheaper renewables. 10,000 megawatts of new backup storage far exceed Diablo's output. But Newsom's Public Utilities Commission has gutted the rate structure and devastated our once-booming rooftop PV industry, costing thousands of jobs and billions in income. Just yesterday he vetoed a bill guaranteeing the spread of panels on schools and more.
