Sara's Song: Chapter 28

The Truth Would Help
Detective Richardson was in his office, smoking a cigar and looking out of his window, deep in thought. He was expecting Shelia this morning and he hoped Jimmy would also show up on his own accord without his having to return to the cab company. Richardson didn’t like having to ask someone to do something twice. Let alone once. If he had to ask a third time it generally became a demand. If they didn’t show up, he would send a patrol car to bring both of them in, wearing handcuffs.

Local stage crew union says PromoWest continues to deny them after four years

Union stage crew workers have spent the last 1,300 days fighting one of the largest live entertainment companies in the Midwest for a fair contract. Yet fair wages, health and welfare benefits are still being denied to the workers who set the stage for highly lucrative live performances night after night.
Live entertainment is designed to excite and thrill audiences. At its best, live music fosters a sense of community created by shared experience and passionate performances of genuine human emotion. Behind all of this is a tremendous amount of hard work by working class folks with exceptional and unique skills.
When the curtain comes down and the lights come on and the last of the crowd filters out, an army of stage crew workers is still hard at work, turning around the venue for the next night’s show. Work in the live entertainment industry is hard by any standard, with typical days starting at 8 am and often continuing past closing time to 3 am or later.

Israel fooled everyone and Dublin fooled me!

Israel fooled everyone and Dublin fooled me. First, Israel claimed with zero evidence that Hamas has beheaded 40 babies and raped hundreds of women on October 7 and even got President Biden to claim he saw it! When the world heard the news, American, European, and Latin American mercenaries were recruited and rushed to Israel to fight its dirty war. That was precisely the reason why Airman Aaron Bushnell set himself on fire. Because of the feeling of shame and guilt of knowing that his fellow soldiers were secretly on the ground in Gaza participating in the genocide.
Then comes the city of Dublin's publicity stunt. It began on this month on March 8 when I received this email from Brother Imran Malik, local Muslim leader that says in part, "The city of Dublin will light the Dublin Link as Green and White to welcome the holy month of Ramadan for the Muslim community of Central Ohio on Sunday March 10th, 2024, at Sunset. Please join us at the Dublin Link Bridge around 7 pm for a celebrating this communal joy together."
Action Alert! Pass the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act

Call and write your U.S. Congressmember:
Vote to pass the House Version of S. 3853, the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA).
The Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) has compensated people who were exposed to radioactivity from the Nevada Nuclear Test Site, along with some workers participating in atmospheric testing and uranium miners. Congress failed to reauthorize it last December, so it is slated to expire this July.
A new bill that would renew and expand RECA has passed the U.S. Senate.
Senate Bill 3853 extends RECA for 6 years. A big bonus is that new sites have been added.
