Vote Early. Vote Now! By Hand. On Paper. Be a Poll Worker and Protect This Election!

Ballots are in the mail. Vote centers are opening.
Wherever you can, cast your ballot NOW.
Then become a poll worker and Election Protection volunteer.
Do NOT wait until November 3rd, or even late October.
If your ballot arrives in the mail, check all the boxes on the envelope, see that your signature matches your best ID, that your name and address are perfect, and that required documents are copied and included. Call the election board and/or an Election Protection group to go over the details, and to find out if you can walk in your ballot.
Many sports arenas will be used right up to and/or including election day. Go there if you can.
An Open Thanks to Michael Moore ... and a Plea to Help Us Protect This Election!

THANKS, MICHAEL!
We’re getting killer e-blasts from the Democratic Party with your spot-on warning that Trump could win again.
Like you, we’re terrified. But it’s NOT inevitable, and now we need you where it really counts … at the grassroots, where the election must be protected.
In 2016, Hillary Clinton ignored our warnings that (as in 2000 and 2004) the election was being stolen. In Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, where the theft was most obvious, she refused to fight for recounts and left us all twisting in Trump’s evil, idiot wind.
This time around, she’s thankfully urging Joe Biden not to concede. And the public has begun noticing the myriad ways the Republicans are lining up to steal it again.
That’s where we need your help. Especially in the Upper Midwest, the Trump Cult wants to corner the “trifecta” of election theft.
First, they’re stripping the voter rolls, disenfranchising some 17 million voters, nearly all of them (of course) non-millionaires of youth and color.
Ending the Civil War

This looks like the beginning of a civil war.
The chaos and violence in Kenosha, Wisconsin are unfolding as I write. I feel as though I’m watching some natural disaster develop, suddenly overpowering any hope for social change “before it’s too late.”
Is it already too late — that is to say, too late to disarm our concept of social order and, for God’s sake, safety? The American problem of guns is not only that there are so many of them, vastly more than there are people; and that they are deemed, by so many Americans, necessary for survival and empowerment, commanding a reverence in the collective imagination right there alongside the flag and the cross; but also, that they are inextricably linked, in so many ways, with American racism.

To Survive 2020 We Must Win the Election Protection Trifecta

To stop Donald Trump from becoming President for Life, democracy activists must win this fall's election protection "trifecta"-- restore the voter registration rolls, make it possible for everyone to vote by mail and guarantee a fair and accurate ballot count.
The odds are formidable.
In 2000, 2004 and 2016, Republicans deregistered millions of potential voters in order to put George W. Bush and Donald Trump in the White House. In 2020, the nationwide total has been estimated in the range of 16 million. The disenfranchised would-be voters, of course, are predominantly young, low income and people of color.
In years past, the pretexts for making voting harder have been varied and creative. They range from suspicion of voting twice, to being an ex-felon, to voting in more than one state-- things that almost never happen.
This year, Republican lawmakers are stripping the registration rolls of citizens they suspect of having skipped two previous federal elections. Their determination to "clean" the voter rolls has been fierce, especially when applied to voting blocs that lean Democratic.
"I'll Never Forget the Torturing" July 3, 2020 SPAZ Update

Efforts to scrub the CHOP continue and protesters continue to get arrested.
Ever since the CHOP became the Seattle Police's Autonomous Zone or SPAZ, protesters have continued to protest at Broadway and Pine. Some have learned the body cameras of police are either off or out of battery, causing outrage within crowds, including taxpayers objecting to paying for cameras not being used. Homeless persons have maintained their ground at Broadway and Pine, resting there after losing their tent homes and most property to the sweeping of CHOP.
For days now, at least 2/3 of officers have been observed not wearing masks despite both local and state law, much to the annoyance of protesters demanding to know why police enforce laws when they don't follow laws.
Franklin County Should Vote This Fall in Nationwide Arena

This fall the citizens of Franklin County should vote in Nationwide Arena.
As we saw in the spring primaries, there is huge confusion about where our citizens can vote. The shabby, little-known, woefully inadequate voting center on Morse Road is a shameful disgrace to our democracy. With the Pandemic we will not have the ability to staff and maintain the usual wide range of neighborhood voting facilities that have been traditionally spread around the county.
Instead, as will be done in Atlanta, our largest indoor sports arena offers an ideal alternative. Should we opt for two locations, the Schottenstein Center on campus might also be used.
Nationwide Arena is owned by the public. The decision to use it for the fall election can be made by city council, in concert with the county election board.
Nationwide is secure, safe and centrally located. It has plenty of parking. Everybody knows where it is.
