DREs, magic and other sleights of hand
Recount-Audit Observations
Franklin County, Ohio
December 2006
The evidence adduced during post election review of the results demonstrate(s) unequivocally that by reason of stunning violations of Ohio law and complete disregard of mandatory election procedures established by the Ohio Secretary of State and the Ohio General Assembly… [t]he deviations are so pronounced that the results of the election are uncertain.

Freedom of Character, Illegal Thoughts
(13 Poems to self assess your Beliefs, Values, Reason and Intellectual Integrity)
Illegal Human being
We in the land of the free,
In God we export democracy,
You, illegal human being,
No rights to feed your off spring,
We in the Eurotopia community,
Intellectuals think about humanity,
You, illegal human being,
No rights to feed your off spring,
We in the First World have intellectual integrity,
Human, Animal, Insect and Vegetable rights are priority,
You, illegal human being,
No rights to feed your off spring,
You, illegal human being, we have to teach you,
Everything about Freedom, Democracy and Human rights,
Et sur La liberte', l'e'galite' et la fraternite',
Until we colonize your country, go back,
Because you still don't understand about human rights.
Within the Walls of Freedom
Within the Walls of Freedom,
The sun shines so bright,
The colors are so many,
It all seems so right,
So many Arena Heroes,
So many Stars and Gold Icons,
Synthetic worship awards to all,
And to the most overplayed songs,

New nukes in Idaho = more cancer
The Idaho Power Company recently submitted a plan to state utility commissioners, a proposed blueprint for how energy would be generated for the state’s growing population. Over the next 20 years, new energy sources would be created – including a new nuclear power plant. This would be the first such plant in Idaho – but not the state’s first encounter with nuclear power.
- The Idaho National Laboratory just west of Idaho Falls, ran for over four decades. A large amount of highly radioactive waste exists at the site, and cleanup by the U.S. Energy Department is underway.
- The Hanford site in southeastern Washington is just over 100 miles west (upwind) of northern Idaho. Hanford released enormous amounts of radioactivity into the air, especially in the early years of the Cold War.
- Fallout from Nevada atomic bomb tests drifted over the nation, and precipitation brought it into the food chain. The National Cancer Institute found that of the five U.S. counties with the highest exposures, four were in Idaho (Blaine, Custer, Gem, Lemhi).

Renowned computer security expert agrees to meet California county supervisor's '1000 to 1' challenge to 'manipulate' Sequoia voting machine!
An expert computer security programmer who successfully manipulated the results of a mock election held on a Diebold optical-scan voting machine in Florida, as well as finding major security vulnerabilities on a Diebold touch-screen system in Utah, has agreed to meet a public challenge to "manipulate" a Sequoia voting system in Riverside County, California.

100 phantom votes found in one precinct; DelCo board of elections hinders investigation
Media, Pennsylvania, Dec 11, 2006. Something was rotten in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, on Election Day, November 7, 2006. According to the Numbered List of Voters in the precinct known as "Newtown 1" in the Philadelphia suburbs, 984 citizens arrived at the precinct to cast their votes. But the voting machines tallied 1089 ballots -- an overvote of 10%.
We don't know exactly what happened. It's clear that the next thing to check is the pollbook -- but the Delaware County Board of Elections has not responded to Election Integrity's week-old request to see the pollbook. And whatever the pollbook says, it won't explain how the Delaware County Board of Elections missed such a whopping discrepancy in their certification process.
We also don't know how many other precincts in Delaware County have similar problems. We found this discrepancy while examining a mere 10 precincts (out of hundreds), in a routine check on Election Integrity's Election Verification Exit Poll. A request to see materials from other precincts has been referred to the County's Right to Know officer, who has stated that Right to Know office requires 30 calendar days to respond.

Parallel election midday report
We are holding our parallel election at Whetstone Recreation Center, 3923 N.
High Street, Columbus (Franklin Co.) Ohio. Franklin County uses ES&S
iVotronic touch screen DRE machines. We've been rained on all morning.
By 10AM, there were over 200 parallel voters.
This polling site accommodates four precincts: 19C, 19D, 20A, and 20D totaling over 3,400 registered voters. I obtained the serial numbers for all the machines, and the names of each Presiding Judge.
19C – 901 registered voters and 5 machines;
19D – 1097 reg. voters and 6 machines;
20A – 533 reg. voters and 3 machines;
20D – 897 reg. voters and 5 machines
(Total: 3,428 voters on 19 machines)
National media arrived a little after 9 AM, interviewing folks inside, as well as our PE workers. Marj Creech gave a TV interview to CNBC. CBS also covered us. Info they provided includes Franklin County's forecast that there will be 106,000 absentee voters and about 200,000 in-person voters.

Pick a number 2006
To the congressional winners of Campaign 2006: as you savor your victory and prepare to take office in January, consider this bit of free advice on how to make those tough decisions you’ll soon face on the war: pick a number.
It’s simple. Pick a number. Any number. It doesn’t much matter which number, as long as it’s greater than 47,615 – the number of U.S. troops killed and wounded so far in Iraq. Now pick another number, something over 650,000 – the latest estimate of how many Iraqis have died in the war. But, I suppose we should keep it simple, so let’s just stick to the only number that really matters politically, the one for U.S. casualties.
Got your number?
OK. That’s all there is to it. That’s the only tough decision you’ll have to make on the war.

Eternal vigilance: the fight to save our election system
David Earnhardt's Eternal Vigilance: The Fight to Save Our Election System
focuses on the National Election Reform Conference, held in April 2005 in
Nashville, which gathered several hundred concerned citizens from 30
states. Since it took place so close on the heels of the November 2004
election, it took on a sort of post-mortem feel. We survived, we're
grieving, we're together. Now, what are we going to do?
Something interesting is happening. I keep thinking and writing "we" as opposed to "they." Even though I heard about the conference only afterward it happened, I feel like I was there. It's uncanny, this bond that connects all of us patriots who feel so strongly about the absolute need for fair elections.

Dorothy Fadiman’s Stealing America: Vote by Vote
This is a film that is more than simply the sum of its parts. It combines powerful content, high-quality camerawork, effective graphics, and a haunting musical score. The film is clearly the work of someone with extensive experience in the field. In fact, Dorothy Fadiman has been making documentaries for the last 30 years, and has many awards to her credit.
Stealing America is a quiet film, and most of the action takes place away from the bombast of politicians. Floundering democracy is the true protagonist here. The corporate media do not come out well – film clips of commentators on Election Day remarking on how smoothly everything went are interspersed with long lines of voters standing in the dark for hours, waiting for a turn to vote. When the networks began to call the election for Bush, inner city voters were still in line – some standing there for as long as thirteen hours – trying to take part in an election that had already been declared.

Official states electronic voting system added votes never cast in 2004 Presidential election; audit log missing
An electronic vote counting system included votes never cast in the total vote count reported for the 2004 Presidential election according to an official directly in charge of conducting the election, the Republican Director of the Miami County (Ohio) Board of Elections. The audit log for the system is missing all information for the 2004 Presidential election....
