The Trump Administration, in place for only a little over three weeks, has gone full speed ahead in its advocacy for Israel. Donald Trump’s invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit him at the White House, the first foreign head of state to be honored in that fashion, set the stage for a whole series of actions intended to confirm the status of Israel as America’s “best friend and closest ally” as it is often celebrated by both government and the media. Trump also delighted his visitor by revealing a plan for the United States to completely remove the Palestinians from Gaza so that the US government could “buy” and “own” the strip in order to rebuild it in luxury style, with properties overlooking the Mediterranean Sea emulating the French Riviera that then would be sold to folks “in the area”, meaning presumably wealthy Jews, as Trump also made clear, no Gazans would be allowed to return to what was once their homes.

Today Putin’s Russia used a drone to hit the sarcophagus that covers seething nuclear reactor at Chernobyl, in Ukraine.

As of this writing, there has been no formal statement from the Russians.

But it really doesn’t matter:  this terrifying strike sends the world a clear message...in the age of drone warfare, any “Peaceful Atom” plant can be turned into a radioactive apocalypse at any time.

Chernobyl is not in a “hot” war zone.  Drone warfare has evolved into a highly sophisticated, carefully controlled nightmare with very advanced computerization.

Our government is drowning in multi-trillion-dollar financial corruption and debt while a fear-peddling national security state has reached deeply into the personal lives of each and every American, justifying its existence through endless wars cooked up by a deep state which has become the most corrupt marching band and chowder society in American history.

That deep state of permanent governance, entrenched media, think tanks, NGOs, and multi-billion-dollar government contractors, notwithstanding elections, has demanded US taxpayers pay additional TRILLIONS for wars, for subsidizing conflicts in other countries, for secret and not-so-secret arms deals to “rebels” for regime change, subverting governments through the pretext of foreign aid.

The government that we have succeeded most in subverting is our own.

Erica L. Green, a White House correspondent, covering President Trump and his
administration, reports on Trump’s task force to “prosecute anti-Christian violence
and vandalism” (https://nytimes.com/2025/02/07/trump-anti-christian-bias.html).
Green writes: “President Trump signed an executive order on Thursday aimed at
eradicating ‘anti-Christian bias’ in the federal government by having agencies
review policies and practices that he says have tried to squelch religious activities
and activism.” Trump “announced the order at the National Prayer Breakfast,”
where he “appointed his new attorney general, Pam Bondi, to lead a task force at
the Justice Department to spearhead the effort.” Green continues: “Mr. Trump said
the task force would ‘fully prosecute anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our
society’ and ‘move heaven and earth to defend the rights of Christians and
religious believers nationwide.’”

“The United States may need to restart explosive nuclear weapons testing,” declared Robert Peters, research fellow for nuclear deterrence and missile defense at The Heritage Foundation, the right-wing organization close to the Trump administration, in a lengthy report last month. Issued on January 15, it was titled: “America Must Prepare to Test Nuclear Weapons.”

Peters stated that “the President may order the above-ground testing of a nuclear weapon….And while the United States leaving the [Nuclear] Test Ban Treaty may not be optimal and may indeed have negative downstream effects, doing so may be necessary to stave off further adversary escalation.”

There has not been a nuclear weapon tested above-ground in the United States since 1962, Peters said. That was a year before the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty of 1963 was signed by the U.S., Soviet Union and United Kingdom. It prohibits nuclear weapons tests in the atmosphere, underwater or in outer space. It allowed underground tests as long as they didn’t result in “radioactive debris to be present outside the territorial limits of the state under whose jurisdiction or control” the test was conducted.

Gitmo, of course!! It’s the freest place “we” have – by which I mean the American government, a.k.a. Donald Trump. No rules apply there, be they international humanitarian law or the U.S. Constitution. It’s a dumping ground, a black hole.

It’s the most secure place for America to hold, as Trump put it a few weeks ago, “the worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people. Some of them are so bad we don’t even trust their countries to hold them because we don’t want them coming back.”
